It is both with heavy heart, and delight, in announcing the retirement of the beloved Brenda Carpenter from St. John's Preschool. Brenda joined the St. John's family back in 2000, and for the past 14 years served in the preschool as either a teacher and/or director. St. John's was blessed to have your loving presence and gentle nature grace each day. Our lives and the children's lives were made better by knowing you. We thank you for your years of devotion, and wish you a blessed and joyous retirement! ![]() Along with all of the program changes and web site changes, hopefully everyone noticed our brand new, official logo! It is now incorporated into our web site, as well as marketing materials. We are very excited and pleased with the logo, and we think it really captures the essence of St. John's Preschool - especially all of those shiny, smiling boys and girls faces - as well as our affiliation with St. John's Episcopal Church. We hope that you feel the same. ![]() Please, join us for our Fun Fair Open House on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We welcome our current, alumni, future and just-curious families to come spend time with us engaging in various activities and fun while checking out the 2014-2015 Program! St. John's Preschool will be one of the 40+ area preschools and related organizations at the fair, where representatives will be on-hand in order to provide parents with information about making the right preschool choice. We hope that you will stop by and support St. John's Preschool, and hope you can bring a friend and/or neighbor who may have preschool age children along with you to see and hear what we have to offer. “Finding the right preschool for your child can be a difficult process. Every family and child has different needs,” said Karen Burke, Children’s Services Early Literacy Librarian. “The preschool fair allows parents to come to one place to gather information about a variety of local preschools.” Attendees will be able to evaluate the various philosophes of local preschools, whether it is academic, play-based or religious. Some preschools also offer a daycare option that may be a need for parents of children of multiple ages. The fair is intended for parents and caregivers. Children attending this program must be supervised by an adult. We look forward to seeing you there! ![]() Welcome parents and all newcomers to our newly designed web site. We are so excited to be able to present more information for you about our program, and to have more interactivity - such as this blog and a calendar as well! As time goes on, we hope to keep expanding and creating an enriching experience - much like the environment for your children here at St. John's Preschool. We are always open to suggestions, so please feel free to contact us with any of your ideas. St. John’s Preschool provides the three to five year old child with an opportunity for education in a loving Christian environment where children learn about God and the world around them. Children are encouraged to develop the social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills necessary for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond. We are a DCFS accredited school with a 7:1 child/teacher ratio. Teachers have 4-year degrees, and are CPR and First Aid certified, and our Learning Centers foster the development of letter recognition, math and counting, handwriting, creative art, music, beginning Spanish and small and large motor skills. We welcome all who are interested to please contact us at 630-355-1669. Registration for the 2013-2014 school year has begun!
